Building maintenance firm Interserve has announced that it has secured a number of new contracts in the UK and Middle East.
The projects, worth a total of £140 million, cover a large-scale office construction work scheme in Qatar as well as a private finance initiative (PFI) contract to deliver new schools in Derry, Northern Ireland.
Furthermore, Interserve will be responsible for the construction of the Kingswood School in the Northamptonshire town of Corby.
Commenting on the contract wins, Interserve chief executive Adrian Ringrose said the firm was continuing to develop relations with clients for the long term.
"In conjunction with the Defra support services contract which we secured at the end of 2008, we have won work worth over three-quarters of a billion pounds in recent weeks," he said.
Associate company Gulf Contracting will construct the seven-storey office block in Qatar for a firm involved in the petrochemical tanker sector, while construction work is due to finish at the Corby school in 2010.
Interserve announced yesterday (January 14th) that it expected to "continue to benefit" from its wide-ranging portfolio going into this year.
