New architect jobs will be provided after Make and Martha Schwartz were named as part of a team to design Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium, reports the Architects' Journal.

The two firms will now work alongside stadium design specialists KSS Architects and engineers Buro Happold to draw up plans for a new 60,000-capacity stadium in north London.

According to the journal: "Make has been approached to 'knit' the new stadium into the surrounding context and, it is understood, will design 500 new homes as part of the development."

Martha Schwartz has taken responsibility for the public realm of the scheme, it is understood.

The football club released initial plans for the stadium last week, including a proposal to use the new stadium for a season while it has only been partially completed.

KSS were heavily involved in the design of the City of Manchester Stadium, while Buro Happold have created new engineer jobs on the London 2012 Olympic Stadium.
