Property firm Urban Splash has landed a deal to take part in the ongoing regeneration of western Scotland, it has been revealed.
The firm is poised to create a £70 million, 11-acre mixed-use development in Irvine, including 300 homes and a range of leisure and commercial facilities, according to Building.co.uk.
It is part of the efforts to give the region a makeover which have been spearheaded by the Irvine Bay Regeneration Company.
The company, set up by the Scottish Executive, is designed to revamp the area by pumping new investment into the built environment, as well as providing new housing and employment opportunities.
Tom Bloxham, the chairman of Urban Splash, said that the new scheme will focus on "quality architecture".
"Being our first site in Scotland, the development is very special for us and hopefully will be the start of a very long term and successful business for Urban Splash in Scotland," he added.
In 2007, the firm won a number of awards for its regeneration projects across the UK, including the title of regeneration developer of the year at the Regeneration Awards.
