Construction work to be implemented by Scottish Water next week

Scottish Water will begin essential construction work next week as it attempts to reduce leakage on its water pipe network.
Those in construction jobs will start a scheme on Tuesday (June 30th) in Elgin, with a new meter to be installed at the Spynie storage tank.
This will help the water company to keep tabs on how much water leaves the tank in addition to identifying the source of potential leaks.
Scottish Water's team leader for Moray Stevie Webster explained that the supply to the tank had to be stopped in order for the work to be undertaken.
"We have plans in place to try to keep water flowing to customers' taps using alternative parts of our network but it is likely that some households will still lose supply overnight," he commented.
"We've scheduled the work for the middle of the night to keep any disruption to a minimum."
Households in the northern area of Elgin are likely to be affected in addition to those in the Bishopmill and Pitgaveny areas.
Scottish Water announced this week that it had completed a significant upgrade at Helensburgh's waste water infrastructure.
