New construction jobs could be created in Kent after Galliford Try secured a multi-million pound education contract in the county.
The firm won the £54 million project to redevelop West Kent College's Tonbridge campus, with construction work expected to draw to a close in 2011.
Dubbed Campus 21, the initiative involves the delivery of a new performing arts building, a main reception area, a community hub and new learning facilities.
Once completed, some 2,300 full-time and 12,000 part-time students will benefit from the improvements.
Commenting on the contract win, Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald said: "The award of this project underlines again our expertise and track record in the education market and we are delighted to be delivering this new project for West Kent College."
It is hoped that students and staff will start using the first of the new facilities by as early as next spring.
Last month, Galliford Try subsidiary Morrison Construction won a £4.6 million contract from the Highland Council covering the redevelopment of sports facilities at Fort William's Lochaber High School.
