The quality of construction work undertaken by housebuilder Lovell has been recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

It is the third year in succession that the company has won the gold RoSPA occupational health and safety award after it achieved high standards of health and safety at its construction sites in the Midlands region.

RoSPA awards manager David Rawlins said that Lovell had demonstrated a "commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of its employees".

"Entering the RoSPA awards reinforces the message that good health and safety is good for business, and clearly demonstrates an organisation's dedication to improving performance in this crucial area," he commented.

Lovell's health and safety manager Ron Spence picked up the award on the company's behalf during a ceremony at Birmingham's Metropole Hotel.

The RoSPA awards are held every year to reward companies which demonstrate their commitment to health and safety management systems.

Lovell recently helped partner Gloucester City Homes achieve a customer service excellence award.
