New construction jobs could be created in Leeds over the next 12 months after Lovell secured a major housing development contract.
The company will deliver 61 new affordable homes in the city after being awarded a £5.6 million contract by the Accent Foundation, a locally-based housing association.
Construction work on the project, which consists of flats, houses and bungalows is beginning this month and is expected to draw to a close during summer 2010.
Commenting on the scheme, Lovell regional director Noel Adams said: "We're excited to be working with Accent Foundation and the local community to deliver these new, high-quality, energy efficient affordable homes."
The new homes, which will meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, will be built at a number of locations including Farrow Road, Armley and Chaucer Gardens.
Lovell will offer training for a number of construction apprentices over the duration of the project.
Construction workers from the company recently gave a free makeover to a popular cafe's kitchen in Bradford.
